THE PROBLEM IT SOLVES:
The problem we solve revolves around the issue of data privacy and motivation for physical activity among today's youth. With the majority of young individuals spending extensive hours on indoor and sedentary activities, there's a significant lack of motivation to engage in outdoor physical activities, including simple actions like walking. While the importance of physical activity is universally recognized, the disconnection between the virtual and physical worlds has made outdoor activities seem daunting. By infusing blockchain-driven incentives, it motivates and tokenizes outdoor physical activities, bridging the gap between the virtual and physical worlds while safeguarding user data and privacy. In essence, our project addresses the modern challenge of motivating youth to embrace outdoor activities in a secure and engaging manner.CHALLENGES RAN INTO:
One of the main challenges we faced, was that unlike native applications that use the device's gyroscope system, the browsers actually do not provide the accurate geolocation. This means that achieving precise imitation of the images or intended paths is almost impossible when walked on a small area.
Even setting enable High Accuracy to be true, the error (at 95% confidence level) is about tens of meters, which can be obtained by Geolocation Coordinates accuracy. We implemented some smoothing feature, because it is almost not the case that the walker is desiring zigzag drawing. Current implementation uses averaging in a sliding window, which averages with weight.
Since nobody from the team has ever worked with Flow chain, we had a challenge of understanding the structure of the blockchain, learning smart contract language and mastering the tools for connection and communication with the blockchain, we mastered it in a week.TECH STACK:
