Please note if you are sending your XDC from XinFin Web Wallet to MyCrypto wallet. So My Crypto wallet address start with 0x prefix you need to change the address prefix from 0x to xdc and send your XDC tokens there

And if you have connected my crypto with ledger please check out the detail guide support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articl...

Thanks, but when I put in the EVM address, it automatically translates into an address that begins “XDC” as I said above so there doesn’t appear to be a function where I can edit AFTER this process which is where I’m having problems.

Do I have to use a specific browser like Google Chrome? To allow me to edit?

Appreciate any help you can offer.

That's because the XDC wallet addresses start with XDC Prefix, if you copy and paste any address starting with 0x in Web wallet, it will automatically get converted to an address with xdc prefix, but it doesn't make any difference. The rest of the address remain same. It won't cause any issue in receiving funds.

While Majority of the wallets support xdc prefix, Metamask, trust and Ledger doesn't support that at the moment.

So, If you want to receive any funds in the above three wallets from an exchange or other supported wallets, you'll have to change the 0x prefix of the wallet address from these three wallets with XDC and you'll be good.

Thank you, but what you say is not true. “ The rest of the address remain same. It won't cause any issue in receiving funds.” I did three transactions using this method and, as explained above, none of the funds has been received in the target wallet. Thanks for your help anyway.

This isn't something that I just made up brother. This is exactly how it works. I am not a technical person but have been here from quite a while to know how these things works.

All the XDC wallet addresses starts with xdc prefix (Again I won't go into what address is from technical perspective) except Metamask, Trust Wallet and Ledger. A wallet address or Public Key from a Layman's perspective is like a bank account number where you can receive and send funds from.

So, If you were to receive funds in any of the wallets that do not support XDC Prefix like MM, Trust and Ledger at the moment from some wallet which supports XDC prefix and some exchange where XDC or other XRC20 tokens are listed, you'll have to replace the 0x prefix of the wallet address that you get from the above mentioned wallets with XDC to initiate the transfer and while sending from the same wallets(MM, Trust and Ledger) to some exchange or some other wallet that support XDC prefix, you'll have to replace the XDC prefix of the destination wallet with 0x.

I can understand that it might be confusing and would require caution and some extra effort while receiving and sending funds, but it is what it is.

Some wallets like Xinfin web wallet would auto replace the 0x prefix of the destination wallet with XDC while sending the funds to EVM compatible wallets that don't support XDC prefix but that doesn't mean the transaction won't go through.

If you haven't already, I would suggest you to check the destination wallet address to which you sent funds on

xdc.blocksscan.io/

to be sure regarding the funds.

Thanks and I really do appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions, but you do not seem to understand the situation that I’m in.

First off, I can only reiterate what I said before, namely that it doesn’t matter which prefix is used, XDC or Ox, because I have not received my tokens in the three transactions I already mentioned.

My problem is that I have all of my XDC coins in this XinFin wallet and I cannot move them to a wallet address that begins Ox which means that they have to stay there until I can figure out a way to get them out of that wallet.

Thanks again for your help.

P.S. I too have been in this crypto space since mid 2018 and I’ve bought and traded literally tens of thousands of dollars of coins so I’m not a newbie and, as they say in America, “this is not my first rodeo.” :-) Usually you’re allowed to enter your own crypto address and it is not changed by the platform itself but, in this case, it is automatically switched to an XDC wallet which is where the problem lies.
