What role does Artificial Intelligence play in the Metaverse?

Today, the Metaverse has become one of the most popular technological issues in the Internet community. Combining different technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, RV, RA, 3D animation, video games and Blockchain. Also, many companies are already working on creating services for this new virtual world. Even tech giant Facebook changed his name to Meta last year. Which shows that the Metaverse really aims to become the next great technology in the digital world.
As the technological development of the Metaverse continues to advance and gain more and more followers, many stakeholders ask themselves a question: what role will Artificial Intelligence play in it?

First, we must define the concept of AI. Artificial Intelligence ( IA ) can be defined as the ability of a computer or robot ( controlled by a computer ) to perform and analyze tasks that are generally carried out by people, as they require human intelligence and reasoning. Tasks such as logical reasoning, learning, creativity, planning, and communication skills.

Artificial Intelligence for information technology operations ( AIops )

AIops are Artificial Intelligence applications whose function is to improve operations of information technology systems ( I ). In fact, AIops take advantage of AI's capabilities in machine learning, Big Data management, and advanced data computational analysis. AIops reinforce IT and DevOps operations teams to do much smarter, faster and more efficient work, so they can detect problems much earlier and give them a quick solution.
The Metaverse must be in continuous growth and will have to be massively scalable. This is why AIops are so important. This technology will play a vital role in managing all the necessary infrastructure ( hardware, server software, and logistics ) to carry out these new virtual worlds of the Metaverse.

In late January, Meta announced that it would develop an AI supercomputer. If Meta's prediction is true, one day it will be the fastest supercomputer in the world.
The first phase of its creation is now complete, and by the end of 2022 the second phase is expected to be completed. At that time, the Meta supercomputer will contain some 16,000 GPUs in total, and the company promised that it will be able to contain AI systems as large as an exabyte, or a thousand petabytes.
The immediate effectiveness of these Artificial Intelligence applications will be key not only to guarantee the solidity of the Metaverse infrastructure. If not also to provide information on the activity that is relevant to the correct development of the system.

Web3 and Metaverse are not the same

Inclusive user interfaces

One of the main keys to the potential success of the Metaverse is the promise of highly immersive experiences for its users. While this can improve social interactions for some users, it can also become a great wall for people with disabilities to access this virtual future world. And not only that, people with a low level of knowledge of these technologies, such as older people, could also see themselves outside of this new experience.

Enhanced smart contracts

Another of the fundamental aspects of the Metaverse is its security and decentralisation as it is linked to the Blockchain. The Metaverse will allow creators and users to easily market digital assets and rights, protecting property and ensuring disintermediation for large technology and banking corporations.
In this case, improved smart contracts that will incorporate Artificial Intelligence technologies could help improve the efficiency and security of transactions in the Metaverse.
At the end of last year, one of the largest cryptocurrency platforms, IOTA, presented a new decentralised network of AI-enhanced smart contracts, called « Assembly » for Web 3 and Metaverse. According to the official announcement, Assembly's main network will launch in 2022 as a non-permission network governed by the IOTA community. The Assembly smart contract network will also have its own native cryptocurrency called « ASMB token ».

Language processing

Metaverse users around the world will be able to benefit from interacting on it, without language barriers. With the use of Artificial Intelligence technology, this will be possible.
Artificial Intelligence technology can break down natural languages like English, transforming them into a machine-readable format. To then analyse this data and produce an output ( response ) that will then be converted to Spanish or any other language and sent to the user. This process, thanks to super computers that use AI, does not take long, creating the instant translation effect.
How to invest in the Metaverse from $ 3?
Depending on the development of Artificial Intelligence technologies for language processing, we would expect to think that most languages will be instantly translatable within the Metaverse.
IA for the development and creation of immersive worlds and digital avatars

Artificial Intelligence technology has the ability to analyse 2D and 3D images to create highly realistic and accurate avatars and virtual worlds. Currently, companies like NVIDIA's Ready Player Me, MetaHuman, Wizard Engine, and Omniverse have already been actively using AI to help create avatars, people, and virtual environments for the Metaverse.
Also, the project called MetaHumans from the company Epic, which just entered early access in April 2021. It aims to reduce the waiting time for creating virtual 3D characters from months to minutes. Beyond the character's appearance, it will also give them life with hyper realistic movements and gestures.

From building and simulating massive worlds, to virtual environments for testing autonomous IA / robots and voice technologies. The technologies developed by NVIDIA are a good example of how Artificial Intelligence technologies will be key in creating the virtual spaces in which social interactions will take place in the Metaverse.
