How to take a Backup of your XDCPay Extension?

The XDCPay is an extension for accessing XDC’s XDPoS enabled distributed applications, or “DApps” in your browser! The extension injects the XDC’s XDPoS Web3 API into every website’s javascript context, so that DApps can read from the Blockchain.

BlocksScan added contributions towards XDC Network Ecosystem and have successfully upgraded XDCPay 2.0 with the latest code of Metamask (before it’s licence applied). XDCPay browser extension wallet Beta version was available for testing within the XDC Community since December last year.

The beta version of XDCPay 2.0 was available for testing on the Chrome extension as “XDCClassic” for the last few weeks, and upon completing the testing and confirming with all the “XDCPay” users, we are proposing to go live on the primary extension, i.e. “XDCPay.” BlocksScan requested “XDCPay” users to take backups of all their “XDCPay” accounts as soon as possible. Here we have the steps to take backup on XDCPay.

How to take a Backup of your XDCPay Seed Phrase?

Step 1: Click on the Menu option (Find THREE lines on your right hand corner of the XDCPay Screen)

Step 2: Click on “Setting” option.

Step 3: Now, click on the “Security and Privacy Settings”

Step 4: By clicking on the “Reveal Secret Seed Words” you will be able to recover your XDCPay Wallet.

Note: If a user has multiple accounts in XDCPay then after importing the existing seed phrase to the new XDCPay version, the user needs to click on the “Create Account” button to recover the accounts.

Step 5: Due to account recovery risk, we should take a backup of each and every private key which contains the fund or which are the owners of any smart contract.

Steps to Backup of Private key:

Step 1: Click on the THREE dots to view the Account options and Click on the “Export Private Key” option.

Step 2: Once clicked on the Export Private Key option, User needs to enter the Password.

How to Download XDCPay State Logs

State logs contain your public account addresses and sent transactions. State Logs file will help you to know the labels of the accounts(Addresses)

Step 1: Visit Setting option of the XDCPay

Step 2: Click on “Advance Settings”

Step 3: By clicking on the “Download State Logs”, the file will get downloaded.

This is how you can backup all the accounts of your XDCPay Extension.

How to use BlocksScan Faucet 2.0

Previously users needed to use different Faucet to request XDC of different networks(Apothem or Devnet). Like, If a user wants to get XDC from Devnet they need to visit, https://devnetfaucet.apothem.network/ and same for the Apothem network they need to visit https://faucet.apothem.network/.

Now, in the latest BlocksScan Faucet 2.0, there is no need to visit different apps for requesting the amount. Furthermore, the previous application of faucet provides only 1000 XDC. If users want more XDC they need to hit the request button multiple times. It becomes a very tedious task for the users.

So BlocksScan Faucet 2.0 solve this problem with little twist if user need more than 1000 XDC they just need to do a twitter post “requesting X amount of XDC from blocksScan faucet” after pasting the twitter post link user can request more than 1000 XDC on one hit of request button.

In addition Faucet 2.0, also shows the history of transactions that has been done by the faucet for transparency and to build trust between users & application.

If user want Test XDC from BlocksScan Faucet, they need to follow below basic steps:

Select the Network from the Dropdown menu (i.e. XDC-Apothem or XDC-Devnet)

Paste the Wallet address in the input box.

If the user wants a small amount of test XDC (i.e. 1000XDC), simply click on the 1000 XDC button and then click on the Request XDC button.

If a user wants to request more than 1000 XDC, enter the amount in the Input field, copy the format of Tweet and post it on Twitter by tagging BlocksScan.

Once posted, copy the link of Tweet and paste it in the input box then simply click on the “Request XDC” button.

This is how users can get the Test XDC tokens from the BlocksScan Faucet 2.0 by selecting Apothem or Devnet for testing purposes.

Steps to Connect with StorX Farmer Site (farmer.storx.io/staking)

If the DApp to which you're trying to connect doesn't automatically prompt you to connect your XDCPay, or for whatever reason you want to initiate the connection manually, follow these steps:

Step 1: Navigate to the site you want to manually connect to "farmer.storx.io/staking"

Step 2: Click on the XDCPay Extension in the browser toolbar in the top-right.

Step 3: Click on the 3 dots menu in the upper right corner
Click on Connected sites.

Step 4: Click the Manually connect to current site button at the bottom of the list.

Step 5: Select the account you want to connect to the website and click Next.

Step 6: Review the information in the confirmation screen and click on the Connect button.

This is how you will see the account gets connected.

Now click on Connect button of the Farmer site to connect your StorX Farmer Site and you will be notified " Wallet Connected".

Add XRC20 token by searching the symbol in a XDCPay 2.0

Now, users can add the XRC20 tokens by searching it in the list.

Step 1: Once you accessed the XDCPay 2.0 Wallet, Click on the "Add Token" button.

Step 2: Enter the XRC20 tokens in a "Search" field. Eg. SRX, CGO, PLI, etc and Click on the "Next" button.

Step 3: Click on the "Add Tokens" button to add the token.

Access the XDC Network Masternode App with Multiple options.

Masternodes are full nodes that create, verify, and validate new blocks in XinFin XDC Network and play a vital role at the time of the validation of the transaction.
To set up a Masternode on XDC Network, ensure your XDC protocol running node is publicly identified and through the compliance process. Every Node Holder needs to upload a KYC document, and this detail will be visible to the public network. To find more information visit the guide to set up a masternode on XinFin XDC Network.

The Masternode App is a handy tool to view the details of masternodes running on the Network. Here, we have two apps for mainnet and testnet, XinFin XDC Network App and Apothem Network App.

Let’s connect the Masternode application through XDCPay.

The XDCPay extension can be used for accessing the application in your browser. The XDCPay extension also lets the user create and manage their own identities via private keys, and local client wallets through which the application can perform a transaction and write to the blockchain.

Once you log in successfully; For KYC, you need to click on the “Become a candidate” button to submit your KYC.

Connect the Masternode application through BlocksScan Explorer.

Anyone who wants to access their Masternode through BlocksScan Explorer can simply visit the Validator Contract of XDC Masternode and interact with it.

To read the Contract, visit the “Read Contract” tab. Users can get the information by fulfilling the requirements like address and all. A total of 25 getter functions are available.

Example of calling the “GetCandidates” function:

To Interact with the XDCValidator Contract, visit the “Write Contract” tab.

Here User first needs to connect XDCPay with the contract by clicking the "Connect to Web3" button.

Note: Make sure you connect to your Masternode wallet only to call the “Write” Functions.

Steps to Host Masternode:
Step 1: Users need to Connect their Wallet by clicking on the “Connect to Web3” button.

Step 2: Now they need to Upload their KYC by calling the “UploadKYC” function, here user needs to enter the “KYC Hash.”

Once uploaded successfully, it will give you information like Tx Hash, Status, Gas Price, and Block Number.

Step 3: Once KYC is uploaded successfully, they need to propose an XDC Masternode by calling Propose” function.

Interact with XDCValidator contract using XinFin Remix + Metamask/XDCPay and Hardware wallet.

Steps to Interact with Masternode using XinFin Remix:
Step1: First copy the XDCValidator contract code.

Step 2: Paste the copied code in XinFin Remix by creating one file name as “XDCValidator”.

Step 3: Visit Compiler tab, Select the compiler version and click on “Compile XDCValidator.sol”

Step 4: Once Compile visit, “DEPLOY & RUN TRANSACTIONS” tab to Interact with the contract.
Note:

Select environment as “Injected Web3”
Enter the XDCValidator Contract address(xdc0000000000000000000000000000000000000088) in front of “At Address” field and click on “At Address” button to access the Function of the XDCValidator Contract.

Apart from XDCPay, BlocksScan Explorer and Using XinFin Remix + XDCPay/Metamask, Users can access their XDC Masternode through Hardware Wallets also like Trezor and Ledger.

Interacting with Smart Contracts on XDC BlocksScan

Users can interact with any smart contract address with the contract code verified by XDC BlocksScan.

The Contract tab gives you a complete insight into the particular contract on XDC - BlocksScan Explorer. Details on the options available in the contract tab have been explained below:
Once you've verified your Deployed Contract on Explorer, go to the Contract tab and look at the THREE tabs.

1. Code tab

The "Code" tab displays contract information in general. It allows you to check the balance of specific addresses, owner addresses, or wallets with permission to use the token in your wallet.

2. Read tab

The second tab is about reading Contract; the "Read Contract" tab displays contract information in general. It allows you to check the balance of specific addresses, owner addresses, or wallets with permission to use the token in your wallet.

There are quite a number of information that the public can extract out of a verified smart contract on XDC BlocksScan. One of the important information that users can get is the balances of any wallet address for a token contract. Information that is public such as “allowance,” “owner,” or information that is generally not displayed on the front page of the smart contract address page can be found under the “ReadContract” tab.

Depending on the type and structure of the solidity contract, the information available in the "ReadContract" tab may differ from contract to contract.

An explanation of how to check the balances for a token.

Go to the Contract tab, and select the Read tab. To find the balance, look for the BalanceOf function and enter the address.

3. Write

The third one is Write Contract; clicking on "Write Contract" allows you to interact with the contract directly. This is useful when DeFi platforms and DApps are unavailable due to a technical issue or a website outage. Instead of using the project's API, you can try interacting with the smart contract directly in some scenarios.

Before Interacting with the Write function, the User first needs to connect XDCPay with the contract by clicking "Connect."

Under the “Write Contract” tab, users can perform functions written in the solidity smart contract. An example of a function written in the smart contract is the “transfer” function.

Here user need to enter the XDC address and the amount with 18 zero, which the user needs to transfer.

Once you have confirmed the entered details, click on Write button.

XDCPay will pop up the screen to Confirm the transaction, Click on Submit button to Complete the transaction.

After completion of the transaction, user can check the transaction hash and other details regarding the transaction.

The smart contract's function and nature are determined by the smart contract's developers. Users can only interact with smart contracts that have been confirmed on XDC BlocksScan for added security.

A verified contract means that the contract code given by the owner of the contract matches the contract code deployed onto the XinFin - XDC Blockchain.

Contracts with vulnerabilities or those are misleading, such as a phishing contract, are not filtered out by XDC BlocksScan.

XRC20 is the name of the token standard equivalent to the Ethereum ERC20 standard, while XRC721 is the equivalent for the ERC721.

Now you can find the XRC20 and XRC721 token transactions on BlocksScan’s XinFin (XDC) Explorer in a separate tab.

The address which contains the XRC20 tokens will display the token transactions and hold tokens in a tab named XRC20 Token Txns and XRC20 Holdings respectively.

Similar to an XRC20, there is a balance of XRC721, which displays the token transactions and the total of the NFT tokens a user owns, in a tab named XRC721 Token Txns and XRC721 Inventory respectively.

If you have multiple XRC20 tokens in your wallet, simply enter your address into the search bar to see all of your XRC20 token transactions for that address. You can also check the USD valuation for all of the tokens in the dropdown.

Learn How to Flatten a Smart Contract and Verify on BlocksScan.

Smart contracts are simply programs stored on a blockchain that run when predetermined conditions are met, and thanks to XRC Smart contracts where you can save up to 90% of your deployment transaction costs. Development on the XinFin XDC network has seen the platform register record growth, with the new smart contracts feature continuing to attract more developers. The increasing number of smart contracts on XDC Network validates that the network will likely emerge as a significant competitor to Ethereum, dominating the space as per the news on Bitcoinist.

There are many guides to teach creating smart contracts on XDC Network, but there’s another important factor with smart contracts which is to verify the deployed smart contract. In our recent article I have covered How to verify XRC20 Smart Contracts on BlocksScan in 2 simple steps. When a smart contract imports any other contract in the current contract, there are some cases where the verification of such smart contracts does not go through as usual. In order to verify such a smart contract, the contract needs to be flattened.

What is the exact purpose of Flatten a Smart Contract?
Flattening a smart contract refers to combining all Solidity code in one file instead of multiple source files such that, instead of having imports, the imported code is embedded in the same file. Let’s learn to flatten the smart contract for verifying the contract on XDC-Explorer, as it currently doesn’t support imports.

Learn to Flatten your Smart Contract with the following steps.
Step 1: Right-click on your Smart Contract and select Flatten.

Step 2: Once you have clicked on the Flatten, another “flat.sol” contract will be added to your screen.

Step 3: Now compile this TestContract_flat.sol file and deploy it on XinFin Remix.

Step 4: Once you have deployed your Smart contract on the XDC network, you can check on explorer by searching your Smart contract address.

Click on the Copy button to copy the smart contract address.

Step 5: Once you are on XDC Explorer, it will ask users to verify their contract. To verify the smart contract, Click on the “Verify And Publish” link. You will be automatically redirected to the Contract verification page with your Contract address.

Step 6: Now copy the code of TestContract_falt.sol file into the verification screen, check the Contract address, name, and the compiler version.

After confirming, click on the Submit button.

Step 7: Now, visit the Code tab to confirm that your Contract has been Verified successfully.

How to verify XRC20 Smart Contracts on BlocksScan?

Follow the 2 simple steps to verify all your XinFin XDC Network’s XRC20 Smart contract.

BlocksScan is a Block Explorer and Analytics Platform for XDC and ETH, decentralized smart contracts platforms. Currently, BlocksScan supports two explorers.

XinFin XDC Network and another one is Ethereum Explorer.

The adoption of XRC20 is growing rapidly in the last few months. Let’s take a look at how to verify XRC20 Smart Contract on BlocksScan’s XDC Network Explorer.

There are 2 Explorers for XDC Network, one for testnet namely Apothem and mainnet XDC Network.

For Apothem network visit:

For Mainnet visit:

XDC Network — BlocksScan Explorer: https://xdc.blocksscan.io/

You can check the Deployed Tokens on XDC Network by visiting the XRC20 Tokens under the Tokens tab.

Follow the steps to verify your smart contract using BlocksScan explorer:

Step 1: Paste your deployed Contract Address on the explorer’s search bar, you will find the text “Are you the contract creator? Verify And Publish your contract source code today!”

Click on the “Verify And Publish” link. You will be automatically redirected to the Contract verification page with your Contract address.

Contract Verification form looks like:

Step 2: Enter the Contract Name, select the Compiler Version that you are having in your contract on the Verify Contract Page.

Also, make sure to check “optimization” to yes if you selected optimization at the time of deployment. Otherwise, select the “No” option.

Click on the Submit button, Once all the details are confirmed.

Now visit the Code tab to confirm that your Contract has been Verified successfully.

This is how anyone can Verify their own smart contract deployed on XDC Network!
